Advocacy for Our Business Community
Through advocacy, the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce  engages with civic leaders and public officials to represent the interests of our business community. Our efforts are focused on ensuring economic prosperity and equity, advancing business opportunities throughout the region.

Our team closely monitors public policy and legislation that can impact local businesses—whether positively or negatively. By advocating for supportive policies, we aim to create an environment where businesses can thrive and grow.

Together, we can build a stronger future for our businesses and unlock new opportunities to pave the way for success!

Advocacy Corner: Keeping an Eye on Legislation That Matters to Your Business

Staying informed about legislation that impacts your business is now easier than ever. Business owners can access valuable resources to track legislative developments and their potential effects through the Ohio Chamber of Commerce's website.

At the start of each Ohio General Assembly session, the Ohio Chamber outlines Public Policy Priorities to guide their advocacy efforts. One standout priority for Fall 2024 is the proposed Employee Mobility Grant Program (House Bill 340). This initiative would incentivize businesses to offer transportation as an employee benefit, enhancing job value without increasing wages.

Interested in seeing the full list of Public Policy Priorities or accomplishments from the 135th General Assembly? Visit the Ohio Chamber’s Advocacy & Policy section at ohiochamber.com to learn more about how these efforts support Ohio businesses.

Standing Committee On Levies and Issues

A key component of our advocacy efforts is the Standing Committee on Levies and Issues (SCOLI), appointed by the Chamber Board President as needed.

SCOLI plays a vital role in ensuring that the Chamber takes thoughtful positions on issues and levies affecting our business community. Before endorsing any issue or levy, we engage in thorough discussions and considerations within SCOLI to ensure our members' interests are represented.

Through our advocacy initiatives and the guidance of SCOLI, we aim to promote economic prosperity, equity, and growth opportunities for all businesses in the region. Together, we can foster a thriving community where local businesses succeed.
